Measure from the center of the wheel to the center of the fender opening.
To take accurate static ride height measurements make sure the vehicle is fully unloaded with no extra bearing weight. Ideally, we recommend having 1/2 to 3/4 tank of fuel to truly replicate average vehicle weight.
Follow the steps below:
- Park the vehicle on level ground
- Roll the vehicle forward and back allowing the suspension to relax
- Grab your tape measure
- Starting at the front drivers side wheel, measure from the center of the wheel (hub) to the center of the fender opening and note
- Move to the driver’s side rear wheel and repeat the measurement from the center of the wheel (hub) to the center of the fender opening and note
- Repeat this process on the passenger side to ensure correct height and stance
This method of measuring static ride height is preferred as it negates any issues with tire wear or of different diameter.
Below the photo shows proper measuring technique on a car, this technique works on trucks/vans and SUV's as well.
