# Are 5100's a heavy-duty shock?
## Don’t fall for the myth — the 4600 Series is your best bet for factory-height vehicles.
If you want to keep your truck or SUV at its stock ride height, the Bilstein 4600 (B6) Series is the recommended option.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for factory shocks, the 4600 Series delivers the ideal balance of comfort, control, and durability. Its monotube design and velocity-sensitive, digressive piston adjust to changing road conditions, giving you a smooth, confident ride—whether the vehicle is loaded or unloaded.
**Common Misconception: Is the 5100 More “Heavy-Duty”?**
There’s a widespread belief that the Bilstein 5100 Series is stronger or more heavy-duty than the 4600. This is false. Both use the same premium internal components and high-quality construction. The key differences are:
- **Length:** The 5100 is longer to accommodate suspension-lifted vehicles.
